Cynthia Bergevin is a lawyer and member of the Quebec Bar since 2016. She is a member of the Association Québécoise des Avocats et Avocates en Droit de l’Immigration (AQAADI) and the Association des Avocats de la Défense de Montréal (AADM).
Me Bergevin jointed the team at Marie-Hélène Giroux avocats in 2017. She practices exclusively in the fields of immigration and criminal law. These fields have led her to plead before the Immigration and Refugee Board, the Federal Court, the Superior Court of Quebec, as well as the Court of Appeal of Quebec.
Me Bergevin completed her Bachelor of law at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) in 2014. During her studies, she became involved in the Clinique international de défense des droits humains (CIDDHU) and completed an internship in the Dominican Republic, where she worked on a file presented before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR). This interest for international human rights law also led her to France, at the Université d’Aix-en-Provence, where she participated in in-depth training in this field.
Her legal expertise is fortified by her studies towards a Masters’ degree in public international law, her participation at the United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights (OHCHR), as well as her involvement with the Network on Business, Conflict, and Human Rights (BCHR).
Me Bergevin is passionate about law, employs a human approach and takes it to heart to fully respond to the needs of her clients. She speaks French, English, and Spanish fluently.
