Jean-Marc J.D. Tremblay was admitted to the Quebec bar in November 1999. Since being sworn in, he has practiced exclusively in criminal law as a defence attorney. Since March 2017 Me Tremblay has equally been a member of the JAG (Judge Advocate General) with the Canadian forces and is regularly entrusted with representation mandates before the Court Martial. Thus, Me Tremblay represents litigants confronted with criminal procedures before all first instance tribunals, jury trials and appeals involving any criminal jurisdiction. Me Tremblay is bilingual and can plead in English as well as in French, as the case may be.<\/p>\n

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Me Tremblay obtained a bachelor\u2019s degree in Business Administration from the l’Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Trois-Rivi\u00e8res (UQTR) in 1988. He worked in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Maritime Surface and Sub-Surface Officer (MAR SS) from 1987 to 2000. His military career led him to participate in various missions, including the Red Sea Operation from March to June 1992. During this mission, as a young naval officer, Me Tremblay traveled to various cities in the Middle East and North Africa, served aboard the HMCS Restigouche as an officer of the watch, and participated in various diplomatic events involving Canada and other foreign powers.<\/p>\n

In his practice as a lawyer, Me Tremblay has been defense counsel for many defendants whose cases have been highly publicized. Nonetheless, he has been able to maintain a high level of discretion, consequentially minimizing the negative impacts that a criminal procedure may cause his clients.Creative and inventive, Me Tremblay approaches each case with an effective defense strategy. After 20 years of practice, Me Tremblay has developed a rich network of experienced criminal lawyers, allowing him to maintain a crisp and fresh knowledge of criminal law.<\/p>\n

In November 2003, Me Tremblay (in tandem with Me Charles Montpetit) was awarded the Robert Sacchitelle prize awarded to the lawyer having had a remarkable performance in defense.
